The Shetland Anglers Association owns some fishing rights outright;and rents or has permission to fish on most of the other mainland lochs.Permits can be purchased at the Lerwick Tourist Office or the Fishing Tackle shop called the Rod and Line in Harbour Steet in Lerwick.A very handy book to buy is called Trout Fishing in Shetland. Permits cost about £20 for the season.Visiting anglers should be aware that the Red Throated Diver nest on most of the lochs here' so take care in the nesting period as they nest very close to the water.
